President’s Message

April 2009

Well...here it is April already. The year 2009 is flying by. It has been a busy year so far. The Beach Bob Valentine’s party was a success, because of so many members coming out to help that night. There is no way that I can possibly name everyone that helped out that night, but you know who you are. It could not have happened without every ONE of you! Thank you, thank you , thank you.

Some of you may have been listening to 103.3FM between 10:00am and 2:00pm lately, if you have not then you need to. The Hollywood Starlight Show with J.D. Micals and Tequila Sheila are trying to help the Greenville Shrine Club by bringing some musical legends to the club. The first one will be on May 16th with Gene Watson and Bobby Bare. Please come out and support this concert, and hopefully there will be many more.

Our Friday night dinners this year have been a huge success. If you have not been out on Friday nights this year, please do come and enjoy a great meal. It has been possible only because of all the help in the kitchen and out front with Dale, Bobby, Mikey, and Timi. Of course Marlo takes care of you out front. I thank each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart.

Please remember our Tuesday night dinners with the Ladies Auxiliary putting some of the best home cooked meals out for you. I personally do not know what any club would do without the Ladies tremendous help at all of the events at every club, but more especially ours. I cannot thank you Ladies enough for all that you do, we could not do it without your help.

I also want to thank David Wilkins, Brian Wilkins, and James Bailey for all of their hard work in putting in the new doors for the ball room. Wade Strong for all of the painting that he has done. Rick Stroud, Carl Nix, and Joe Cole for all the repairs that they have done. I cannot name everyone that has done so much this year.

Please remember that the Shrine is a brotherhood and it takes all of us working together to make it work. Let’s remember to make 2009 the year to shine.

Fraternally Yours,
Rick Pruitt
Greenville Shrine Club

Manager’s Corner

I’ve wanted to bring the Sunshine Report back to GSC for some time now, and with the world turned upside down like it is, I feel there is no better time than the present. If you know anyone whom is sick please call 864-244-6200 and let me know so we can keep them in our prayers and get by to see them. Please add Rosco Timms and Minnie Smith to your personal list. Also, please never hesitate to call me if there’s anything I could do for you! Sincerely,

Dominique Cheney
